Roadside
shrines may pop up along any road or path in many
game worlds. They come in all shapes and beliefs. Here are two for your consideration.
First, we have one apparently built by follows of the
Old Ones from the
Cthulhu Mythos by
H. P. Lovecraft. The central image belongs to old
Cthulhu himself.
The lower carvings of two human skulls indicate the subservient role played by mankind in the greater mythos.
Arcane runes are carved into the back of the shrine as well.
Only a stubborn, stunted pale yellow-green lichen grows in the vicinity if the shrine. No other life seems willing to take hold in the area.
The second
shrine appears to be of a more recognizable religious following.
Unlike the
Cthulhu shrine above, this second one attracts more life forms to it. Grasses, moss, lichens, and more nestle at the base of the stone structure.
Both
terrain pieces measure about 2 inches (50 mm) tall and are on bases that are 2 inches (50 mm) in diameter. The
fantasy figure is a
25mm miniature included for scale.
