Volcano Lava Pools Terrain for 15 to 28 mm Scale War Games

Strong tremors shake the foundations of the ground! Cracks form in the crust, shards of deep rock thrust upward ! Burning hot gases erupt from the very bowels of the earth! And red hot lava begins to rise!

Here are a couple of volcanic lava pools for the game board.

The lava has pooled in the shells of volcanic cones.

These terrain pieces can be used with game miniatures ranging from 15 mm to 28 mm scale. Both size figures are shown in the photos.

The pieces range from 1 to 1-1/4 inches (25 - 30 mm) in height. The bases are 5-1/2 x 4 inches (140 x 100 mm) and 5-1/4 x 5 inches (132 x 130 mm) respectively.

Volcanic lava pools can appear in a wide variety of role-playing and war gaming scenarios: science fiction, fantasy, pulp action adventure and more.

Industrial Pipe Piles War Game Terrain 25-28 mm Scale

Industrial settings offer plenty of opportunities for creating challenging battlegrounds in war gaming. In addition to large structures and equipment, there is always a need for smaller bits of scenery to act as obstacles or to provide additional cover for your troops.

Here are some examples of piles of industrial pipes. These represent large pipe segments that have been simply stacked for storage until needed.

Several sizes of pipes have been used to vary the height of the terrain.

The pipes show signs of surface corrosion and weathering from being exposed to the elements over time. Dirt, leaves and gravel have gradually piled up along the bottom pipes, even flowing into the open ends.

Various bits of minor industrial debris lie scattered about the base of the pipes: broken lumber, short section of a rusting I-beam, metal scraps, even a small dozer blade. It would be possible that the larger pipes offer some concealment to an opponent waiting in hiding for an unsuspecting victim.

These terrain pieces are designed for 25 to 28 mm scale miniature figures. They stand from 1-3/4 to 2-1/8 inches (45 to 55 mm) tall. The bases are about 6 x 2-1/2 inches (150 x 65 mm).

Terrain pieces like these can be used  in most science fiction war games. They would fit right into post apocalyptic landscapes.
