Walk around most industrial settings in many science fiction game worlds and you will encounter odd piles of junk. These scrap materials may have been pulled from vehicles needing repair or recovered from a spaceship crash site. In a post apocalyptic world, they may represent valuable bits of tech scavenged from the ruins of civilization.
In gaming terms, these piles can offer simple protective cover for your characters or rough terrain to be avoided. Perhaps they represent victory objectives containing possible tech treasure important to the scenario.

These small scatter terrain pieces can be useful in many miniature game scenarios including Science Fiction and Post Apocalypse settings. They are designed for use with 25 to 28mm scale miniatures. They measure about 3 inches (75mm) across as shown in this overhead view:
